About - Edge Networks - The History of Edge Networks UK

Edge Networks UK was founded in early 2014 by a team of telecommunications experts, brought together by a shared focus on delivering high-end, technically advanced consultancy, services and solutions.

With experience across the communications sector, Edge designed, built and operated a carrier-grade WISP network that is still used today for testing, demonstrations and product evaluation, while also helping deliver internet access to harder-to-reach rural and suburban areas of England.

Edge later expanded into the design and build of 5G test and development networks in the UK. Alongside proven capability in core network transmission and specialist timing and synchronisation, this growth strengthened the company’s reputation and enabled it to take on established, industry-leading organisations.

From 2017, strategic partnerships across the carrier services space supported further expansion. By early 2018, Edge was delivering consultancy, design, build and service work directly to major UK carriers and beyond.

Today, Edge is built on an ethos of excellence, specialising in IP Networking, Transmission, Timing and Synchronisation, and radio systems, supported by a full lifecycle service catalogue covering consultancy, design, build, operation and ongoing support.
