Wireless Internet for Gloucestershire

As part of the UK Government initiative “Better Broadband Scheme”, Edge Networks are now supplying residential and business grade broadband to homes and businesses within Gloucestershire with bundles ranging from 5-30Mbps.

Edge Networks designed, deployed and now operate a Wireless ISP network across Gloucestershire, providing high speed broadband connectivity into areas poorly serviced by traditional providers. This deployment called on all of Edge Networks core skillset as in addition to the complete core network infrastructure and services such as routing, switching, authentication, accounting and OSS platform design, the network contains a lite-licensed routed wireless backhaul network providing resilient high capacity connectivity to required areas of the city, and unlicensed point-to-multipoint wireless subscriber, all requiring associated capacity and RF planning skills.

The UK Government has made a commitment to provide every home and business in the UK with access to a basic broadband service so that browsing the web and keeping in touch with families and friends is easier and is available to premises which are unable to access speeds of at least 2Mbps.  More information about this scheme can be found at: https://basicbroadbandchecker.culture.gov.uk/
