Celebrating 12 Years of Edge Networks

On 24 March 2026, Edge Networks celebrates 12 years since the business was founded. It is a milestone we are proud of, but our story reaches back much further than 2014.

While Edge Networks was officially established in 2014, the expertise, engineering heritage and market understanding behind the business were built over many years. That depth of experience helped shape the company from day one and continues to influence how we support our customers today.

Built on Experience

Edge Networks was created after recognising a gap in the market for a more capable, engineering-led partner. From the outset, the aim was not simply to supply products, but to deliver practical solutions that put customer needs first.

Our early foundations were rooted in telecommunications, with a strong focus on solving real-world connectivity challenges. One of our first missions was helping connect hard-to-reach not-spots in rural Gloucestershire, where reliable service was often limited. That problem-solving mindset became part of our identity early on and remains central to the business today.

Just as importantly, Edge was built on a heritage of timing and synchronisation expertise that stretches back to the late 1990s and early 2000s. That knowledge, developed through Chronos and later Horsebridge, helped create the strong technical base that Edge Networks continues to build on today.

Growing with Purpose

Over the last 12 years, Edge Networks has grown by focusing on what matters most: strong engineering, trusted service and long-term partnerships.

A key milestone in that journey came with the acquisition of the Horsebridge Carrier Services business unit, which strengthened our market position and expanded the expertise within the business. From there, we continued to evolve, growing into new sectors, expanding our service offering and supporting more organisations with resilient, high-performance network solutions.

Our growth has never been growth for the sake of it. It has always been about adding value, building capability and making sure we continue to meet the changing demands of the industries we serve.

More Than Technology

As the business has grown, so has the breadth of what Edge Networks represents.

Today, we are known for far more than our roots in telecoms. We support clients across critical infrastructure with specialist services spanning timing and synchronisation, network solutions, managed services, global logistics and more. Across every area of the business, the same principle remains: understand the requirement first, then build the right solution around it.

That approach has helped us build trusted relationships with customers, industry partners and leading names across the sectors we work in. It has also allowed us to continue expanding into new technologies and industries while staying true to the expertise and values that shaped the company in the first place.

Partnerships have played a major role in the Edge Networks journey, and not only within technology.

Our technology partnerships continue to strengthen. Our relationship with Oscilloquartz reflects our focus on working with market-leading names in timing and synchronisation, with a heritage dating back to 1949. In 2025, we also welcomed Calnex as an official partner, further strengthening our ability to support customers with trusted expertise across timing, synchronisation and network assurance.

Along with technology partnerships, our local relationships with Gloucester Rugby and the Gloucester Rugby Charitable Foundation is something we are extremely proud of. It reflects many of the qualities that matter to us as a business: performance, resilience, teamwork and a strong connection to the local community. Along with this, the foundation creates real impact across the community and helps make a difference beyond the world of business.

As Edge Networks continues to grow, these partnerships remain an important part of who we are. They reflect our commitment not only to supporting critical networks, but also to supporting the people and communities around us.
